Absent Versus Transcendent

Western religionists (western religion = Judiasm, Christianity, and Islam) have a tendency to proclaim that meaning, morality, patriotism, purpose, and the like are either transcendent or absent. This [mono]theistic way or nothing is a false dichotomy. Everyone derives at least some meaning, morality, patriotism, purpose and the like from their ongoing lives in the here and now. The psychological dependency on a fictional supernatural something beyond is itself an artificial creation of religion. It is a circular ideological trap that can be and should be dispensed with. We all confront the challanges of the life we live which is our proper focus.
